The scenes I've illustrated this time are the ones that will conclude Artaban's story. After spending his life helping everyone he could, Artaban finds himself determined to deliver his last gift, a shining pearl, to Jesus. However, a complex situation confronts him with a difficult decision between empathy and determination. The man decides to give the pearl to a young woman to save her from her persecutors. Artaban knew it was the right decision, but he couldn't help but feel sad... after all, he had no more gifts to offer his master.
Shortly afterward, an earthquake strikes the earth, causing a fatal accident, in which Artaban suffers a blow to the head. He spends his final moments resting in the arms of the woman he had helped, while having a final vision in life, where he sees Jesus, who had just died on the cross, and receives his conforting message.
